Abstract:

The study aimed to Investigating the relationship between the professional development and functional adaptation of the government secondary school teacher in the capital Amman from the viewpoint of school principals. The study used the descriptive correlative approach research method which was appropriate for the purpose of study. The study variables were measured through a questionnaire distributed using the Simple Random sampling method. The target population consist (196) manager in the government secondary school in Amman. The results of study showed that the reality of professional development for teachers in government secondary schools in the capital city of Amman comes with a high degree of appreciation, and all areas of professional development came with a high degree of appreciation, and it was found that the level of career adaptation of teachers in government secondary schools in the capital city of Amman were high, the results of which reached a positive and statistically significant relationship between the averages of a respondent's sample response to the reality of professional development among teachers in government secondary schools in the capital city of Amman and the level of their functional adaptation.
