Abstract:
The study aims at revealing Zarqa University (ZU)'s student-perceived degree of development of character-building apropos of students' acquired cognitive competencies, affective values and behavioral skills. The study population comprised randomly-selected (350) ZU students comprehending (161) males and (189) females registered in the first semester of the academic year 2018/2019. In fulfillment of the study objectives, an 18-item questionnaire was developed. Following the descriptive survey approach, the findings indicated Zarqa University (ZU)'s student-perceived degree of development of character-building apropos of students' acquired cognitive competencies, affective values and behavioral skills was high. On the other hand, the study showed no statistically attributable gender-specific or specialty-bound variations in students' perceptions. The study recommends giving more care to university students' character- and potential-building in entire scientific, academic and creative domains.
