Academic Problems of the Students at the Faculty of Education (Basis)- University of Bakht Al-Ruda from their Points of View

Abstract:
The study aims at identifying the academic problems faced by the students of the Faculty of Education (Basic) at the University of Bakht Al-Ruda from their points of view and whether there are statistically significant differences between the means of the sample members due to the variables: (gender, specialization, academic level). The researcher used the descriptive methodology. The sample consists of (90) students whom were randomly selected. The researcher prepared a questionnaire which included some academic problems. The final version of the questionnaire consists of (44) items which were divided into five main areas; problems related to the (courses, professors, tests, students, faculty and the administration). The results showed that those academic problems for students of the Faculty of Education (Basis)- University of Bakht Al-Ruda were intermediate, and there were no significant differences in academic problems due to gender (male, female), and there were no significant differences in academic problems due to specialization in the total degree of the tool and areas (tests, students, college and administration), while differences were found in the areas (tests, professors). There were no statistically significant differences due to the academic level in the total degree of the tool and the areas (courses, students and tests), while differences were found in the areas of (professors, college and management). The study also arrives at number of recommendations, including: attention to academic problems of students and to search for solutions, and the establishment of psychological and social guidance units in the college.
