A Proposed Training Program to Develop Designing Skills of Presentation slides among Faculty Members at Shaqra University in Light of Quality Standards.

Abstract:

This study aims at identifying the needs of faculty members at Shaqra University in the field of designing presentation slides for teaching purposes, creating standards for designing presentation slides, and proposing a training program to develop their skills in this field. The study sample included (142) presentations prepared and designed by faculty members at Shaqra University. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a was designed consisting of (47) paragraphs distributed on two main axes: presentation design, and design of basic presentation slides. The numerical rating scale encompassed seven domains: basic slides (6 items), content organization (12 items), backgrounds (3 items), fonts (4 items), colors (6 items), text (12 items), and audiovisual media (4 items). The results showed that faculty members need to develop their skills in the field of designing presentation slides in all areas.  A training program has been proposed to meet their needs of designing presentation slides. Based on the results, the study recommends developing programs to qualify faculty members in Saudi universities in using modern educational technologies and conducting an experimental study to measure the effectiveness of the proposed program.
