Abstract:
This study aims at investigating the obstacles of applying TQM to Palestine Technical University-Khadoorie from the point of view of faculty members, depending on different variables (gender variable, academic rank, and faculty) on the opinions of faculty members on the obstacles to the application of TQM. The study was conducted in the first semester of the academic year (2017-2018). The study community is composed of all faculty members of the Palestine Technical University (255) member (202) Male and (53) Female. The study sample consisted of (76) faculty members. They were selected randomly. The researchers developed a questionnaire that measures the constraints of applying TQM at the Palestine Technical University–Khadoori, which consisted of (27) paragraphs, verified the validity of the instrument of study and stability, has reached the coefficient stability of (0.94). The study found the following results; the level of obstacles to the application of TQM in Palestine Technical University-Khadoorieis generally high. One of the most important obstacles is the large bureaucracy in administrative work, in addition to the weakness of human relations within the campus of the university, and the lack of awareness among faculty members on the culture of quality and its importance. The study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the level of obstacles to the application of TQM in Palestine Technical University-Khadoorieattributed to (gender variable, academic rank, and faculty).
