Abstract:
This study aims to find out the availability of strategic planning indicators in the Jordanian public universities from the view point of the heads of academic departments, and to detect differences in the study sample regarding the availability of strategic planning indicators depending on some variables: Type of college, academic experience, and professional rank. A random sample of (170) department heads was considered during the first quarter of the 2015/2016 academic year.
To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was developed, that is composed of 64 items distributed on four areas. The acceptable signs of validity and reliability are established. The results show that the availability of strategic planning indicators in the Jordanian public universities from the perspective of the sample members is generally moderate, and came all fields average extent. The results of this study show that there is no differences in the sample's expectations depending on the variable of type of college, and the existence of differences depending on the variables of academic expertise and professional rank.
